◄ Back to Skills Overview

General Information

Magery allows you to cast a variety of spells such as healing, curing, damaging and summoning spells. It is also used in conjunction with various trades in order to enhance their crafts, or in some cases, the mages themselves.

In order to successfully cast a spell, you must not be disturbed. If your character takes any damage, whether magical or physical, then your casting will cease to continue.

Many magic users will elect to train their Wrestling skill to help avoid physical damage while casting spells. The Protection spell helps to avoid distraction from magical damage, as will the Magic Reflection spell, both of which get an effectiveness bonus from the Inscription skill.

Spells

Successfully casting a spell also requires that your character has enough mana to cast it, as spells cost mana points. Most magic users will therefore use the Meditation skill to help recover mana faster, as will increasing your characters Intelligence.

Each spell also requires reagents to cast. There are eight different types of reagents on Angel Island:

  • Black Pearl
  • Blood Moss
  • Mandrake Root
  • Nightshade
  • Garlic
  • Ginseng
  • Spider's Silk
  • Sulfurous Ash

Coincidentally, there are also eight "circles" of spells, each consisting of eight different spells for a total of 64 spells. Each circle varies from the next in difficulty to cast and total mana required.
