Champion Spawns
Champion Spawns
Champion Spawns are among the most challenging PvM encounters on Angel Island. They reward large amounts of gold, high-end magical equipment, and Champion Skulls used to summon the ultimate foe: the Harrower.
Unlike standard OSI-era shards, Angel Island does not award Power Scrolls. Instead, Champions are a primary source of vanquishing weapons, invulnerability armor, rare equipment, and Champion Skulls.
There are three categories of Champion encounters:
- Champion Spawns
- Mini Champion Spawns
- Seasonal Champions
Champion Spawn Mechanics
A Champion Spawn progresses through four increasingly difficult levels of creatures before the Champion itself appears.
Progress is tracked using the Skull Altar located at the center of the spawn area.
Skull Candles
The altar displays both white and red skull candles:
- White Candles indicate progress toward the next red candle.
- Red Candles indicate overall progression toward the Champion.
Progression follows this pattern:
- 5 White Candles = 1 Red Candle
- 4 Red Candles = 1 Spawn Level
If creatures are not killed quickly enough, progression can reverse and the spawn may regress to an earlier stage.
Champion Rewards
Defeating a Champion may reward:
- High-level magical armor
- High-level magical weapons
- Approximately 30,000 gold
- One Champion Skull
Summoning Champions
Most Champion Spawns on Angel Island are player-summoned.
When an altar is ready, it will speak to nearby players indicating that it is available for summoning.
To summon a Champion:
- Place the required sacrifice on the altar.
- Speak:
- "I offer this sacrifice in your name <Champion Name>"
Example:
"I offer this sacrifice in your name Semidar"
Once a spawn has begun and reaches at least one white skull, no additional Champions may be summoned until:
- The Champion is defeated, or
- The spawn regresses completely back to zero progress.
