Resources are essentially commodities in Ultima Online's world. They can be harvested and used in crafting or sold as a lucrative income. In order to deal with large quantities of resources you must buy commodity deeds from your local banker. You will receive a green deed and must then select the commodity to deed. The resource must be in a sufficiently large quantity; a small number of boards or ingots will not qualify.

Gathering Resources
Mining – Pickaxe Double-click your pickaxe inside a cave or along a mountainside. Take the ore to a nearby forge to smelt it into ingots used in smithing.
Lumberjacking – Hatchet or one-sided axe Double-click the axe and target a tree that has not been recently cut.
Fishsteaks – Fishing pole Double-click the fishing pole and target water.
Reagents – Mage shops or magical creature corpses Reagents must be purchased from shops or collected from defeated monsters.
