Packing Up Your Township
The township pack-up system allows a guild to convert an active Township into a portable restoration package.
This system preserves important Township assets while safely dismantling and recovering other Township structures.
Packing up a Township is useful when:
- Relocating a Township
- Rebuilding in a new region
- Reorganizing Township infrastructure
- Temporarily retiring a Township
- Recovering Township investments
What Gets Packed
The following Township assets are preserved during pack-up:
- Township lockdowns
- Township add-ons
- Township NPCs
- Livestock
- Decorative plants
- Certain Township structures and decorations
Preserved assets are converted into restoration deeds and organized into categorized moving crates.
What Gets Recovered
Some Township structures are intentionally dismantled rather than restored directly.
These include:
- Township statics
- Township construction structures
- Scaffolds
- Certain crafted Township features
Instead of being restored individually, these assets are converted back into Township credit and resources through the Township crafting recovery system.
Moving Crates
After packing up a Township, the guild will receive:
- A Township Restoration Deed
- A Moving Crate Key
The restoration deed tracks all moving crates associated with the Township.
Moving crates are automatically categorized for easier restoration. Examples include:
- Livestock deeds
- Lockdown deeds
- NPC deeds
- Add-on deeds
- Decorative plants and seeds
Visual Restoration Deeds
Many restoration deeds visually resemble the object they restore.
For example:
- A crate restoration deed may look like a crate
- Decorative plant deeds may resemble the original plant
- Add-on restoration deeds may resemble the original structure
This makes large Township restorations easier to organize and unpack.
Township Plants
Township plants are processed according to their state:
- Decorative plants are preserved as restoration deeds
- Living plants are converted into seeds
- Dead plants are discarded
Generated seeds are grouped together into a dedicated seed crate.
Township NPCs
Township NPCs are safely preserved during pack-up and restored later using Township NPC deeds.
Supported NPCs include:
- Bankers
- Trainers
- Provisioners
- Innkeepers
- Emissaries
- Evocators
- Town criers
- Other Township service NPCs
Livestock
Township livestock is preserved using livestock restoration deeds.
This allows guilds to relocate Township stables and animal infrastructure without manually moving every creature.
Township Statics and Scaffolds
Township statics and scaffolds are handled differently from add-ons.
These structures are:
- Credited back to the Township
- Deleted during the pack-up process
- Intended to be rebuilt later
This allows the Township system to recover construction investment while avoiding large-scale static restoration problems.
Guildstone Requirements
A Township cannot be packed up while the guildstone is being moved.
The guildstone must:
- Exist
- Be placed in the world
- Not be in internal storage
If the guildstone is unavailable, Township pack-up will fail.
Restoring Your Township
After establishing a new Township, use the Township Restoration Deed to begin restoring preserved Township assets.
Restoration is performed in logical stages using the categorized moving crates.
Important Notes
- Keep your moving crate key safe
- Township statics are not individually restored
- Some temporary or invalid structures may not be preserved
- Packed Townships remain associated with their moving crates until restoration is complete
- Moving crates remain locked until opened with the correct key
- A Township cannot be packed up more than once simultaneously
