The Clan Alignment System allows all players to participate in various Clan Wars. Currently, these clans are comprised of three orcish clans. Others will be brought online as interest dictates. You need not be aligned with orcs or in a guild to participate. Flagging rules are similar to those in other systems like Guilds, the Kin System, and our Alignment system in later versions of the shard. When you belong to a clan, clan members, both NPC and player (and their pets,) will flag you as an ally (green), while all other clans and their members will flag to you as an enemy (orange).
Currently, there are three Clans to choose from:
- Rockbiter Clan
- Blookskull Orks
- Darkfang Horde
Joining a clan
- i pledge allegiance to <clan name>
Example: "i pledge allegiance to Darkfang horde"
- allegiance
This tells you what clan, if any, you are currently aligned with.
- i resign from my clan
You will be dropped from the clan. Do note however, you may only resign once every 7 days. This prevents clan jumping.
Forts
Temporary flags
Attacking your own clan, or healing a clan member to which you do not belong will result in various punitive actions. If you attack your own clan, you will flag enemy to your own clan for 5 minutes. An unaligned player healing a clan member ('blue healing') will result in that player being conscripted into the clan for 30 minutes. Example: Cindy, who belongs to no clan, heals Nok'Tarn of the Rockbiter Clan. Cindy will now be conscripted into Rockbiter Clan for a period of 30 minutes. Cindy will now be freely attackable by all enemies of the Rockbiter Clan.
Clan Commander
Each fort will have a Clanmaster NPC. The Clanmaster takes orders from the clan Commander. There can only be one clan Commander at any given time. A player becomes clan Commander by simply being the first player to give the Clanmaster an order, like attack! Once you assume command, you will remain clan Commander until you either relinquish command, fail to issue any commands for 1 hour, or go offline.
Commands
- <clanmaster name> attack <clan name>
All newly spawned mobiles will be deployed to the named clan. Existing troops are unaffected.
- <clanmaster name> defend
All newly spawned mobiles will be deployed around the fort to protect it.
- <clanmaster name> defenders attack <clan name>
Defenders around the fort will be redeployed to attack <clan name>.
- <clanmaster name> all attack <clan name>
Reassign all troops, deployed or not, to attack the target clan. Example: You have defenders at your fort. You have troops that have already reached the Rockbiter fort. You also have troops on their way to Darkfang. all attack Darkfang horde would redeploy every mobile to Darkfang including new spawns and those guarding your fort.
- <clanmaster name> recall troops
Teleports all spawned clan NPCs back to fort and sets them to defend mode
- <clanmaster name> surrender
Resets the whole thing, despawning the attacker/defender clan NPCs Once you surrender, you will suffer a 10-minute timeout where you cannot reenter the battle.
- <clanmaster name> status
You are told what wave you and your enemies are on, and the casualties on all sides.
- <clanmaster name> i relinquish my command
You give up commandership of the clan. Any other clan members may now take over command.
- <clanmaster name> equip
During wartime, the clanmaster will dress you in the garb of the clan.
- <clanmaster name> stand down
This is used when you wish to reset your clan (wave 1) when not at war. E.g., your clan has responded to player attacks, and you wish to prepare for war.
Strategy
Clan Wars is a game of strategy, one in which the players are in complete control. For our examples, we will use ClanA, ClanB, and ClanC.
- Mutual assault:
In a mutual assault, both Commanders have issued attack commands on the other clan. In this case, all spawning mobiles (clan NPCs,) immediately start a march toward the enemy clan. They will often meet somewhere in the middle, and the battle begins!
- Attack/Defend:
In the case where the ClanA Commander has issued the attack command, and ClanB's Commander has issued the defend command, ClanA will begin their match toward ClanB. ClanB's troops will be waiting for them at ClanB's fort, and will defend the fort.
- Hybrid Attack/Defend:
Here, Commanders from the respective clans have issued an attack command, and after a certain number of troops have left the fort, they issue a defend command. In this case you will have both attackers and defenders. It will be up to the Commanders to decide how many will be doing the attacking and how many will be doing the defending.
- Redeployment:
Using our example from above, either or both Commanders could issue a command such as defenders attack or all attack. In the case of defenders attack, all defenders around the fort will be redeployed and begin their march toward the warring clan. In the case of all attack, all defenders around the fort, and any other clan mobiles (perhaps on a march to a third fort,) will be redeployed and begin their march toward the warring clan.
