New players begin their journey with a freshly cut unemployment check inside their backpacks. These checks may be used for training and are accepted in most shops as gold.
Training
Your unemployment check is widely accepted in exchange for training by the various NPC's in UO. In order to train using the deed, you must type the following:
(Vendor Name) train (Skill Name) (Gold Amount)
As soon as you press enter the value of the unemployment check will be reduced and your character will be trained, provided that the trainer is capable of performing the task.
Shopping
Unemployment checks can be used to purchase items and supplies from a variety of NPC vendor shops.
Making purchases with the check is the same as with gold in your backpack, so if it isn't working then the vendor likely doesn't accept the checks as payment. Simply having the check in your backpack is as good as gold.
