Terms of Use

This is a private server, maintained for non-commercial purposes, by a staff of volunteering members. The resources required to maintain this service are funded and supported in a completely private manner. The administrators reserve the right to suspend your access should they consider that your actions regarding the game world, game community, game mechanics, are of a harmful or disruptive nature.

Employees or officers of, volunteers for, contractors for, or consultants for Electronic Arts or any of it’s subsidiaries may not create an Angel Island account without the express written permission of Matt Carpenter(AKA Folik), shard owner, operator, and administrator.

Paid or unpaid staff or volunteers for another Ultima Online Player Run Shard may not create an Angel Island account without the express written permission of Matt Carpenter (AKA Folik), shard owner, operator, and administrator.

Players registering an account for Angel Island must agree to and abide by the following rules:

Account Creation

Accounts: For technical reasons as well as balance issues, your access to the server will be limited to 3 accounts per household. A household is usually defined as a static IP address.

Character Names: Please use common sense when choosing a name for your characters.

Do not choose a name that is offensive. We would prefer not to have to spell out a list of names that are not allowed, and would like to be able to trust our players to use good judgment. If the need arises, however, we reserve the right to ask you to change your character name, or to change it for you.

Keep in mind that you might find yourself a target for retribution from other players if your name offends them.

Language

Do not use offensive or sexually explicit language. Do not use language that is racially or ethnically objectionable to another player.

Gameplay

Do not exploit any bug in the Ultima Online product or the Angel Island server to gain unfair advantage in the game.

Client-Side software

The only programs that may be used in conjunction with the Angel Island server are the Electronic Arts/OSI client, Razor, UO Steam, UOAM, and UOGateway.

Do not use any other third-party programs to gain skills while unattended.

Do not use automated ‘robots’ to gather resources while unattended, this includes Razor.

Do not use MUL (MAP) editors or other client-side hacks to improve performance. Client side ‘skins’ and graphic embellishments are okay.

Community

Guilds: Guilds should enhance the community, not disparage it. Do not form guilds or groups that promote hate against any group, ethnicity, social category or person.

Shard Events: Official shard events will be planned for the enjoyment of the community. Players who deliberately sabotage or disrupt official shard events will be removed from the area or jailed for the duration of the event.

  • Please note that this is not a rule against murdering or stealing at events. Those actions are legal game activities on this shard.

Staff Interaction

Players may not impersonate, represent themselves as, or claim to have special influence with, an Angel Island shard staff member.

Do not threaten or harass staff members.

Do not argue with staff members in the game. If you have a problem with an action or decision made by a staff member, please report it to a shard administrator through private message on the forums or discord.

The staff will not award special privileges to individuals or groups on a gratuitous basis. Do not ask staff members for gifts, favors, or enhancements to your character.

Given the volunteer nature of the staff, please understand that their availability might be limited at times.
